Now, install the 2 female-to-barbed end fittings onto the check valve, using teflon tape on the threads. Install a hose going from the PCV valve to the catch can using the hose clamps. I service my cars at 5,000 mile intervals but will check the can after the initial 1,000 miles. Removing the catch can for draining will likely be easier vs using the drain plug with the location I chose. I personally would not use a catch can as you want the least amount of restriction going back into the intake. I figured it was a relatively cheap mod to keep the engine clean, which is why I asked. Yeah, I did read a lot of stuff online about air/oil separators but wasn't sure if our cars were direct & port injected or just direct injected. So hopefully we will not have an issue with soot forming around the plugs and causing an issue. They have direct injection and port injection. This is my 1st install guide so bear with me. Some manufacturers have done something else to make sure they keep the area clean.

It's recommended you install the catch can on the mount, then install the mount instead of installing the mount, then trying to fit the catch can in the tight. The best place to mount it is to the frame next to the air conditioning pipe. be caught in something to be in a situation that is difficult to escape. Attach the stainless steel bracket to the catch can, ensuring the hole in the catch can lines up with the pipe on the bracket. At least that is what I have read about over the last few years. Generally speaking if you have an engine with direct injection then there have been some documented instances of soot forming on the plugs and valves necessitating some remedial action down the road.
